Jane Austen Midsummer Festival takes place in Hampshire United Kingdom to celebrate our local and internationally acclaimed author and a very interesting period of history, encouraging visitors to explore their cultural heritage.

The Jane Austen Midsummer Festival 2026 and the Jane Austen Birthday Ballare run by a group of volunteers ad participating organisations under the auspices of the Alton Jane Austen Group. It is funded through ticket sales, grants, sponsorship and advertising.

Some of the events are run by registered charities who receive the ticket income as part of their fundraising activiites: Jane Austen's House Museum (CIO); Chawton House; Hampshire Cultural Trust; Gilbert White and the Oates Collections; The Parochial Church council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of the Resurrection, Alton.
